# Connect AI apps

> On Pro, connect Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, or another MCP app to your library. The app can search your links and ask Yuri. It cannot save or delete them.

You can connect an AI app, such as Claude, to your Yuri library. Then you can ask that app about the links you saved. The connection uses MCP (Model Context Protocol), a standard way for AI apps to use other services.

## Who can connect an AI app?

[Pro](https://help.yurihelpful.com/plans.md) includes AI apps. Starter and Basic do not.

## What can the app do?

* See your tags, categories, and how many links you have.
* Search your links.
* Open a link and read what Yuri wrote: the transcript, explanation, summary, and to-dos.
* [Ask Yuri](https://help.yurihelpful.com/ask-yuri.md) a question about your whole library. That can take up to a minute.

The app cannot save new links. It cannot delete links.

## Where do I start?

1. Open [My Library](https://yurihelpful.com/saved).
2. Open the account menu (your picture), then click **Settings**.
3. Click **Connect**.

Each app has a button that starts the setup, and the steps to do it by hand. Yuri's server address is:

```text theme={null}
https://api.yurihelpful.com/mcp
```

When the app signs in, Yuri opens a page that asks you to **Allow** it. If Yuri does not know the app, that page shows the site your access goes to. Only allow it if you trust that site.

## How do I connect Claude?

Click **Add to Claude**. Claude opens with Yuri filled in. Click **Add**, then **Connect**, then press **Allow** on Yuri's page.

To do it by hand:

1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
2. Name it Yuri. Paste the server address.
3. Leave sign-in on. Click Add, then Connect.
4. Press **Allow** on Yuri's page.

### Claude Code

Run this in a terminal:

```bash theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user yuri https://api.yurihelpful.com/mcp
```

Then type `/mcp` in Claude Code to sign in.

## How do I connect ChatGPT?

You need a paid ChatGPT plan. Click **Add to ChatGPT**. It copies the server address and opens ChatGPT. Then:

1. On chatgpt.com/plugins, click Add, then Create MCP App.
2. Name it Yuri. Paste the server address.
3. For sign-in, choose OAuth. Then click Create.
4. Press **Allow** on Yuri's page.

If you do not see **Create MCP App**, turn on developer mode first. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. On some accounts it is in Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings. On a Business plan, only a workspace admin can turn it on: Workspace settings, then Permissions and roles, then Connected data.

## How do I connect Grok?

Click **Add to Grok**. It copies the server address and opens Grok. Then:

1. On grok.com/connectors, click New connector, then Custom.
2. Paste the server address.
3. Press **Allow** on Yuri's page.

## How do I connect Gemini?

The Gemini app only lets personal Google accounts in the US add apps. Click **Add to Gemini**. It copies the server address and opens Gemini. Then:

1. In Gemini, open Settings, then Connected apps.
2. Under Custom apps, click Add a custom app. Paste the server address.
3. Press **Allow** on Yuri's page.

### Gemini CLI

Run this in a terminal:

```bash theme={null}
gemini mcp add --transport http --scope user yuri https://api.yurihelpful.com/mcp
```

Then type `/mcp auth yuri` in Gemini CLI to sign in.

## How do I connect another app?

Any app that works with MCP can connect. Paste the server address into it. If the app can sign in, it opens Yuri's page and you press **Allow**.

If the app cannot sign in, make a key. In **Settings**, under **Connect**, find **Your keys**. Type a name and click **Make key**. Copy the key at once. Yuri does not keep it, so you will not see it again. The app sends the key in the `X-API-Key` header.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Anyone with a key can read your library. Keep it secret, and remove it when you stop using it.

You can have up to 10 keys.

## How do I disconnect an app?

In **Settings**, under **Connect**, each app shows when you connected it and when it was last used. Click **Disconnect**. To stop a key, click **Remove**.

## What happens if I leave Pro?

Connected apps and keys stop working. They stay in **Settings**, so you can still remove them.
